Tim is an accomplished ‘hands-on’ therapist who has gained experience within Allied Health Clinics across Australia, working with dynamic teams of experienced health professionals. Within this collaborative environment he has acquired a diverse and comprehensive knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries.
Tim has developed an interest in managing sporting injuries and has furthered his clinical knowledge through professional development courses held by esteemed Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports Physiotherapists, Radiologists and Osteopaths. When required, he will arrange referrals for radiological imaging (X-ray, MRI) & Sports Physicians consults.
Tim has undertaken training in Clinical Pilates with Dance Medicine Australia. This “Movement Based Classification & Treatment” approach developed by Craig Phillips (former Australian Ballet dancer) seeks to identify & remedy movement dysfunctions (biases) through both floor work & equipment based Pilates. This is harmonious with Osteopathy as it provides a safe framework to capitalize on the improved quality of movement that ‘hands-on’ treatment provides. This may be integrated with joint specific rehabilitation exercises.
Whilst earning a reputation providing care for Track & Field Athletes on the Gold Coast, he has also worked with Professional Tri-athletes, Rowers & Dancers. He currently works alongside a Dance Physiotherapist, Podiatrist & a former Socceroos Physiotherapist.
Throughout his time at University Tim worked with a Landscaping construction company. Whilst this remains a passion of his it also led to an understanding of lower back injuries and how these are best managed & prevented.
For dancers, there are a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions that may affect pointe work or turnout. Tim’s research into lower limb pathologies and movement impairment has allowed him to form effective treatment solutions that combine the manual therapy skills of Osteopathy with rehabilitation exercises. He assisted several young dancers in their preparation for the Gold Coast Eisteddfod.
Integrated methods are used to create a plan for your ongoing wellbeing.
If an injury requires further investigation, Tim will often involve a Radiologist and/or Sports Physician, for a prompt & accurate diagnosis.
