Dry Needling

Dry needling targets muscle function restoration and tissue healing.

Dry needling can be used to treat acute and/or chronic musculoskeletal conditions, with the goal of permanently reducing muscle pain and dysfunction.

How does dry needling work?

Our specialised Brisbane dry needling practitioners use fine filament needles placed non-invasively into the region of a trigger point. The treatment aims to achieve a local twitch response that releases muscle tension and, therefore, pain. While there isn’t a non-confronting way to describe this treatment, dry needling often causes less discomfort than regular deep tissue massage, with most clients unable to feel the needles penetrate the skin. Our Brisbane dry needling team are professionally trained and highly experienced, meaning you can rest assured that you are in very good hands and will achieve the best results possible.

What can dry needling help with?

Dry needling is used to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions and can achieve pain relief, reduced muscle tightness and improved muscle activation.

Our Brisbane dry needling practitioners can effectively treat:

  • headaches
  • knee and leg pain
  • hamstring strains
  • gluteal pain
  • sciatic pain
  • muscle spasms
  • frozen shoulder
  • tennis and golfer’s elbow
  • shin splints
  • fibromyalgia and
  • repetitive strain injuries

Dry needling is performed as part of a standard treatment session by our Musculoskeletal therapists and some of our Remedial Massage therapists holding the extra qualifications required to practice dry needling (often in conjunction with massage treatment). Dry needling services therefore reflect our remedial massage prices so you can have confidence that you are receiving the very best treatment for your condition without having to worry about added costs.

All of our brisbane dry needling services qualify for Health Fund rebates and on the spot rebates are available through our Hicaps machine.
